They will compete in 28 sports across 72 Sydney venues, including many famous Olympic sites. The Games are open to sportspersons of all abilities, rather than just elite athletes. Australian Volunteers International
|
| Australian Volunteers International (AVI) recruits volunteers to share skills and build relationships with people of developing communities all over the world. Sport is one of the key areas in which they work.
DD is helping to raise funds so that AVI can create a Swim for Safety program in Papua New Guinea to be fronted by our Ambassador Elka Graham. Why PNG? Because many local kids travel to school each day by canoe… yet most of them don’t know how to swim. As a result, tragic drownings are commonplace. Double Drummer has undertaken to promote this program to our own community of seekers and sellers so AVI can get this life-saving program underway.

Australian Diabetes Council
|
Australian Diabetes Council is a non-profit, non-government charity dedicated to helping all people with diabetes, all of their lives. They provide education programs, conduct public awareness campaigns, fund research into diabetes management to search for a cure for the fastest growing chronic disease in the world and through advocacy, protect the rights of people with diabetes. They achieve their mission through members' funds and the community support of caring Australians.
Double Drummer is proud to be linked to Australian Diabetes Council through our involvement in the NSW Corporate Games – the organisation’s largest annual fundraising event. We love the whole philosophy of the Games, which fits perfectly with the three pillars that make up Double Drummer's values: (a) participation in an active and healthy lifestyle (b) meeting people and having fun and (c) helping a good cause, in this case Australian Diabetes Council.

Guy Leech World of Fitness
|
|
Ironman legend, Guy Leech is seeking to educate and motivate Australians to eat healthily, exercise and generally be more active. He achieves this via a diverse media platform of which Double Drummer is now a part. In his own words: “I am a very proud Australian who loves this country, our climate, our beaches and our kind, yet tough people. I cannot believe that the most over achieving sporting nation on earth, with all the natural resources at our disposal, has reached such a critical point in terms of our national health. The obesity crisis means that, for the first time in history, our generation will live longer than our children's generation… unless we address the situation NOW.”
The Guy Leech World of Fitness organises events to get Australians of all ages moving and also provides high quality health and fitness products at lower prices, making them accessible to more people. Guy supports the Heart Research Institute and in partnership with his alliance companies lends his profile and donates to more charity athletic events than any other celebrity.

OurManly.com.au
|
Manly is not only a well-known Sydney tourist destination. It’s also home to a buzzing community of locals - from artists and musicians to sportsmen and women, celebrities to business people. It’s a blend that makes this area a vibrant and fascinating place to live and work... and the reason Double Drummer selected Manly as the place to set up our Sydney offices.
OurManly.com.au is a revolutionary new business directory and tourism portal, locally run to service Sydney’s northern beaches community. It provides information on all the best local businesses and services as well as access to the most up to date local gig guide, news, reviews, sport, fashion, travel, giveaways and more. Through the Our Manly portal, Double Drummer will in turn provide the means for Peninsula locals to find playing and training partners and all their local sport service providers - from coaches to trainers, sports stores, physios and more. As OurManly expands to other suburbs and other states, we’ll provide the same valuable local search service to wherever there’s such a need. (And that’s everywhere!) |
