2010 Australian Corporate Games Results
Congratulations… and thanks for representing DD at the Australian Corporate Games
While always strong in the NSW Games, 2010 was the first year Double Drummer had entered a team in the Australian Corporate Games held in Melbourne in November.
Among the 9,155 participants from 330 organisations, we may have had just four team members... but in typical 'DD style', they punched well above their weight and brought home 2 First Place Medals – one for tennis and one captured in swimming.
Congratulations to ultra-keen tennis player Mike Etherington who flew from Sydney to contest the Singles Men 40-49 event. Having taken the NSW Title earlier in the year, Mike wanted to go one better. He played no less than five pool matches to reach the Final and then took out the big one to add the Australian Title to his trophy cabinet.
Cindy Goudie challenged herself to an even more gruelling event – the 1 kilometre Open Water Swim. She swam the distance in the excellent time of 19 mins 10 seconds – the fastest of any female in the race - finished 22nd overall (amongst hundreds of participants) and easily won her age group - Individual Women -30.
Special mention goes to our other representatives, Cyrus Bhathawalla and Kamal Kandasamy who had a ton of fun as Double Drummer's first ever Indoor Karting team!

Thanks again to our Australian Games Team for your support and for helping raise much needed money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Victoria. If you’ve now caught that competitive bug, come and join a far bigger DD Team when we do it all again in Sydney in March!
This time we're raising money for Australian Diabetes Council (formerly known as Diabetes Australia-NSW) – a wonderful organisation dedicated to helping all people with diabetes and their families throughout their lives. There are 17 sports from which to choose in Sydney and over 7,000 ‘weekend warriors’ are expected to participate.
Join us in Sydney under the DD flag once more in the sport of your choice, this time in Sydney from May 12-14. Click here for full details
A huge thanks again everyone. Look forward to more fun in the near future.
